European Coastal Airlines

From Rab to Zagreb onboard a seaplane

The commercial flights between the Island of Rab and Zagreb, which were recently introduced by European Coastal Airlines, have made the Croatian capital the first city in continental Europe boasting a seaplane connection with an island. Regular daily flights between Rab and Zagreb take approximately 35 minutes. A seaplane carries 19 passengers; a one-way ticket costs 499 kuna, while a return flight costs 899 kuna.
All the aircraft on this route take off from Split, the place from which European Coastal Airlines launched their first commercial flights last summer, connecting Split and Jelsa on the island of Hvar. Representatives of the airline are announcing new flights to Mali Lošinj, the Kvarner Bay islands of Krk and Cres, as well as Rijeka, while next year they are also planning to introduce flights to the island of Vis and an international flight between Zagreb, Mali Lošinj and Italy.
